Yusen Logistics awarded CEIV Pharma at Kansai International Airport

Yusen Logistics has become the first Japanese freight forwarder at Kansai International Airport to be awarded the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma) certification.

Yusen is part of the KIX Pharma Community and the certification is part of a strategy by airport operator Kansai Airports to turn Kansai into an international cargo hub. The community was established in August 2017 and all members are working towards gaining CEIV Pharma certification.

The company said it is developing and improving its service to the pharmaceutical industry globally and it is aiming to establish a “high-quality pharmaceutical logistics service, and globally expanding its supply chain and logistics services that cater to customer needs”.

The Kansai certification adds to ones previously gained in November 2016 by Yusen at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport while in March 2017 it also obtained GDP certification at Frankfurt Airport in Germany and GDP at jakarta Soekarno–Hatta International Airport in July 2016.
