Volga-Dnepr wins heavylift South Asia award

Volga-Dnepr Airlines has been voted ‘Heavy Lift Cargo Airline of the Year’ in industry awards presented at BHP 2019 – the international conference focusing on breakbulk, heavylift and project forwarding in South Asia.

The event in Mumbai, India, brought together leading companies, expert speakers and delegates for an influential networking platform for all stakeholders interested in the region’s continued development and prospects as well as the challenges businesses need to overcome both locally and globally.

The award winners were judged on a wide spectrum of factors, including volumes handled, operational performance, efficiency parameters, the variety of cargo handled, customer satisfaction and others.

Volga-Dnepr also contributed to a panel discussion during the BHP 2019 conference on the ‘Indian market outlook for project cargo by air’, during which Lloyd Dsouza, regional business development manager at Volga-Dnepr Group, shared the company’s views on air cargo market growth, conditions, and perspectives.

Dsouza said: “We are honored to be among the award winners at BHP 2019. South Asia is an important market for us, and one we have served for a very long time. In 2018, we achieved over 15% growth in volumes transported to and from South Asia, bringing benefits to our customers in major sectors including the energy, heavy machinery and aerospace industries.

“We would like to thank everyone involved in the BHP conference and awards and look forward to supporting the further development of the South Asia market.”

Volga-Dnepr has served the South Asia market for over 29 years, transporting cargo for various industries – notably, oil and gas aerospace, energy, automotive, humanitarian and others.
