Strong demand from the oil and gas industry for air cargo capacity from the U.S. to the Middle East has helped British all-cargo airline CargoLogicAir’s (CLA) first scheduled route get off to a flying start.
CLA launched the twice-weekly service in mid-August, offering customers a maindeck Boeing 747-400 freighter capacity with Europe-Mexico, Europe-Middle East and U.S.-Middle East connections. Departing from London Stansted every Wednesday and Saturday, the flights operate to Mexico City via Frankfurt, Houston, Atlanta and Abu Dhabi.
In the Middle East, CargoLogicAir is also providing road feeder services to provide fast deliveries to Dubai International Airport (DXB), Dubai World Central (DWC) and Sharjah (SHJ).
In the first two and-a-half months of services, CargoLogicAir has already carried over 2,000 tonnes of cargo.
The strong support of the U.S. oil and gas industry was highlighted by Steve Harvey, CLA’s Chief Commercial Officer at a special customer event in Houston, hosted by the airline and Houston Airports.
He told guests at the event: “The level of support from customers in the U.S. for our first scheduled cargo route has been exceptional, and particularly the amount of oil and gas cargo we have carried so far.
This reinforces our strong confidence in international demand for high quality all-cargo services as well as the positive growth of the U.S. economy.”
Houston Airports Chief Operating Officer, Jesus Saenz, added: “The addition of CargoLogicAir is yet another step in the growing cargo operations at Bush Airport. Houston Airports remains committed to developing and improving intermodal connectivity, and new services such as these help Houston Airports achieve its mission of connecting the people, businesses, cultures and economies of the world to Houston.”
CargoLogicAir is continuing to grow its scheduled cargo network and has recently added new 747 freighter routes connecting London and Frankfurt with Dubai and Hong Kong as well as a new Europe-Tel Aviv service.
