Uni-top Airlines launches new Wuhan-Luxembourg freighter route

A new Boeing 747-400 freighter route was opened on Sunday (13 January) between Wuhan in central China with Luxembourg operated by Uni-top Airlines, according to Xinhua news agency,

The freighter departed from Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei Province, and will be operated on a three-weekly rotation between the two cities every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

The aircraft was reportedly loaded with a payload of electronic components, auto parts and garments on the 747F which has a capacity of 110 tonnes.

Xinhua said Wuhan Tianhe International Airport already operates air freight routes to Chicago, Incheon in Seoul and Liege.

The airport is reportedly hoping the new route will help boost e-commerce between Hubei and Europe and is targeting more routes to Belt and Road countries.
