Tesla unveils first electric truck in effort to transform road freight industry

Tesla has revealed its first ever electric-driven truck as it hopes to transform how freight is transported via road.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, unveiled the truck at Tesla’s recent event at its facility in Los Angeles.

The ‘semi-trailer’ style truck will go into production in 2019, according to the company.

The majority of trucks that transport freight in the US are fueled by diesel, Tesla want to shift the use of diesel to powering the vehicles by a battery.

The company stated that the truck will work out cheaper and more efficient for the environment ultimately.
