Swiss WorldCargo and Oman Air suspend China flights

Swiss WorldCargo and its parent company, airline SWISS, has announced a suspension of all flight to and from Beijing and Shanghai, in light of the spread of the Coronavirus.

The flights, which had initially been suspended until February 9, will now be deferred until February 28, due to an updated evaluation of the virus threat, said the company.

Flight operations to/from Hong Kong will continue as planned.

Together with the Lufthansa Group, SWISS and Swiss WorldCargo will continue to monitor the situation and remain in close contact with all responsible authorities, and keep you updated regularly, said the airline in a press statement.

Following the directives of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) in Oman, Oman Air will also suspend all flights to and from Guangzhou, China, effective Monday, 3 February, 2020. Additionally, acceptance of bookings to and from Guangzhou has been suspended.

“The safety of our guests and employees remains our highest priority. We apologise for any convenience caused by this action,” said the airline in a statement.
