
Ukrainian authorities have reported that Russian troops has seized control of Hostomel Airport home base of Antonov Airlines after a large scale air assault.
The airport is owned by the Antonov aircraft manufacturing company and operated by its subsidiary Antonov Airlines.
Antonov Airlines is a Ukrainian cargo airline, a division of the Antonov aviation company.
It operates international charter services in the oversized-cargo market.
The airport was captured when the Russian military was reported to have deployed 20 Russian helicopters and Mi-8 aircraft dispatching paratroopers at the airport.

This is the biggest attack on a European state since the end of World War Two.
Unconfirmed reports have also claimed that the world’s largest aircraft, the Antonov An-225, has been destroyed.
