Chris Notter started as a Customs Officer and then went into freight forwarding, before entering the airline side of the business and spending almost 29 years with German carrier Lufthansa. Notter has held other senior industry roles including Vice President Cargo Operations at Qatar Airways and he was also previously Vice President Operations. Notter then moved onto his current role as Chief Ground Handling Officer at Saudi Airlines Cargo after joining the airline in 2014. He now currently holds various consultancy roles.

Fabrice, a seasoned professional with more than 25 years of experience in sales and business development, has had quite a diverse and interesting career path. Before venturing into the aviation industry, he served as an Instructor Officer-Lieutenant- in the French Army, showcasing his disciplined and leadership background. His aviation journey began in 1998 when he joined Air France as a Station Commercial Representative. Over the next few years, he made significant contributions to the company, particularly in the area of sales analysis and strategy development. As the Head of Studies and Statistics at the regional headquarters, Fabrice developed analytical tools that played a vital role in shaping sales decisions. In 2008, he transitioned to Air France KLM Cargo, where he initially took charge of Sales for Eastern France. Later, he joined the France Sales Management team, further advancing his expertise in sales. In 2013, Fabrice's career took an exciting turn as he became the Sales Manager & Developer for the France, DOM-TOM, Africa region of the Air France KLM Pharmaceutical Group. In this role, he established a vertical organization and fostered collaborations with local Pharma Associations, demonstrating his ability to create effective networks. Continuing his growth within the pharmaceutical logistics field, Fabrice became the Head of Product & Development for Pharmaceutical Logistics in January 2017. He led a global team responsible for supporting sales and operations in delivering high-end, time-sensitive pharmaceutical and biotechnology products. In 2019, he assumed global responsibility for Quality under GDP/QA Pharma, implementing performance enhancement programs and investment strategies for cool chain products. Since May 2020, Fabrice has been a part of Etihad Cargo, where he has taken on leadership roles in the Pharma and Fresh high-value goods segments and several innovative projects in addition to promoting Abu Dhabi as a Life Sciences and Food HUB. His expertise and passion for the industry have undoubtedly been invaluable to the organization. Beyond his professional achievements, Fabrice also holds a License level in History and has received distinction awards in various areas, including sports, the military, foreign languages, and IATA Quality and Risk Management for Temperature Controlled Cargo. These diverse interests and accomplishments reflect his well-rounded character. Currently based in Abu Dhabi, Fabrice is driven by a genuine enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge and energy to achieve tangible business targets. With his extensive experience and passion for the aviation industry, he continues to make a significant impact in his field.

As part of the Global Operations Support  - Cargo Team and  based in the UK he is the Cargo Corporate functional head for Cargo Security and Pharmaceutical Handling. Enrica Calonghi is a native of Italy, where she graduated in Languages and Foreign Literature. She is a known name within Air France KLM Cargo, where she has spent her entire carrier. Starting in KLM Cargo in Italy, she moved with her family to Spain, where she has been leading the Cargo division for Air France KLM Cargo from 2011 to 2014. For the last six years she has been living in the Netherlands, working at the Headquarters (of Air France KLM Cargo) as Key Account director first and, in the last three years Leading the Pharmaceutical Logistics division of our group.

Andrea started his career in the charter airline industry in Milan MXP in the mid-1990s, working for Lauda Air, the company of his childhood hero, Niki Lauda. After an exciting couple of years travelling the world for this charter airline, he then moved to a multinational Temporary Employment Agency and was appointed Branch Manager for Milan Malpensa Airport in 1998. At the turn of the century, March 2000, he was offered a position at the newly-opened cargo warehouse handler ALHA at Milan Malpensa Airport. 20 years down the line, ALHA has grown to become a group of companies and the biggest Air Cargo Service Provider in Italy employing 1000 members of staff in 4 Italian Airports and 11 Off line Stations. Andrea is now in charge of all ALHA Group commercial aspects, ranging from Warehouse Handling, Freighter Ramp Service, Trucking Services and the new Startup "A+Tech" Ground Support Equipment (CoolBox).

Since 2014, Joachim von Winning is the Executive Director of the Air Cargo Community Frankfurt, Frankfurt’s air cargo industry association. The community includes freight forwarders, airlines, cargo handlers, the airport operator and other service providers from all sectors of the air cargo industry at Frankfurt Airport. He is a member of the IATA Time and Temperature Working Group since 2018. Joachim joined Frankfurt Airport’s operator Fraport in 1999 as a project manager in ground handling. Since then he was head of IT and logistics of ground handling before implementing strategic planning in the maintenance and construction division of Fraport. He moved into the commercial sector as chief of staff of the real estate division, supervising the re-organisation of the department aligning it with Fraport’s Airport City strategy. From 2010 to 2014 Joachim was the Chief Commercial Officer of Cairo Airport as part of a management contract between Fraport and Egypt responsible for the non-aviation revenues and air cargo department of the airport as well as route development and was member of the Routes Advisory Panel. After his return to Frankfurt he joined Air Cargo Development at Fraport and was chairing the pharmaceutical Competence Team of the Community. Joachim holds an MSc in Logistics and IT (Dipl.-Wirtsch.-Inf.) from the University of Mannheim and an MBA from the University of Nottingham. Since 2007 he is a lecturer including lectureships at the Frankfurt University for Applied Sciences for logistic processes in aviation, Strategic Airport Management at the European Business School in Wiesbaden and airport competition at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Mannheim. During his studies he briefly lived in South Africa and was vice president of the German committee of the world’s largest independent student organisation AIESEC.

As Global Head of Network & Quality at Temperature Management Solutions at DHL Global Forwarding/LifeConEx, Nina Heinz works with her team to cover a wide array of quality matters in regulatory compliance, audits, training, partner management, customer complaints and continuous improvement. Nina played a key role in the implementation of the global DHL Thermonet network of GDP-compliant life sciences stations, including the internal DHL Thermonet GDP guidelines, training programs and internal audit certification to ensure full regulatory compliance. Nina is an active full member of the Pharma.Aero, a cross-industry collaboration for shippers, CEIV certified cargo communities, airport operators and other air cargo industry stakeholders. She is a also a member of the IATA Time & Temperature Working Group as well as a member of the Steering Committee of the Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Interest Group (PCCIG) European branch within the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA).

Prior to joining FedEx Express in 2007, Dr. Laot held managerial positions in market-driven industrial R&D, innovation and strategy at Bayer in Germany for about six years.

Originally from the Celtic Brittany region of France, Dr. Laot obtained PhD and MS in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech (USA), a Diplôme d’Ingénieur from Compiègne University of Technology (France), as well as an MBA from HEC Montreal (Canada).

Mark holds the position of Branch Manager at Geodis FF Manchester. His role as Branch manager is to oversee the operation and ensure that we, as a globally recognised company, keep within the regulations for all areas. More specifically, maintaining GDP practices which are governed by our WDA license. Geodis FF Manchester handles all kinds of cargo but specialises in the exportation of pharmaceuticals. Geodis handle pharmaceuticals for one of the largest global pharmaceutical companies. The handling processes and practices provide temperature management solutions, supply chain security and optimisation, process control distribution, quality risk management. Geodis proudly hold an MHRA WDA licence.  They have recently added their LHR branch to that licence following an MHRA audit. Prior to his work at Geodis, Mark worked with Cathay Pacific Cargo for 9 years.  He was employed as a Cargo services supervisor overseeing the planning, building and loading of up to 15 weekly 747 freighters. During his time at Cathay he gained a vast amount of knowledge of the airfreight sector, travelled to various destinations around the world and gained experience in the handling of a different variety of goods and an understanding of the various rules and regulations.

Before he joined CEVA Logistics, Niels lead the UPS Europe Healthcare team as the Vice President for Healthcare. Niels has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare and life science industry of working closely together with customers across R&D, supply chain and manufacturing. Previous to UPS, Niels led the IBM Healthcare consulting practice in the Netherlands and then joined DSV to lead the global Healthcare industry. He was responsible for transport and distribution operations, business ethics, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and profitability assessments. In the last 12 years of his career, he has been working as Special Cargo and Healthcare Products Manager at Turkish Cargo. He is responsible for management and coordination of product development projects. In coorperation with other departments, A.Bahadır BUYUKKAYMAZ develops new products and services and provides enhancements to existing ones on a regular basis. Following closely the trends and latest technological developments in the air cargo sector, and attending workshops and international seminars related to special cargo operations are of great interest to him. He develops sales plans to support Turkish Cargo’s regional sales-marketing teams worldwide specifically in relation to special cargo consignments. A.Bahadır BUYUKKAYMAZ ensures publishing of supplementary articles on special cargo by IATA. His management announces newsletters related to special cargo to the entire Turkish Cargo organization in order to set corporate standards in and outbound and mitigate operational risks. A.Bahadır BUYUKKAYMAZ is entitled with IATA’s CEIV Pharma Certificate and is the Pharma Responsible Person in the Turkish Cargo organization. He has helped to obtain CEIV Live Animal, CEIV Fresh and CEIV Li-Batt, too.

Mrs. Gruber is Head, Special Cargo at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and is responsible for the regulations related to the transport of live animals, perishables and pharmaceuticals and for delivering international standards and business processes for the air cargo supply chain. Mrs. Gruber is leading IATA’s Cargo governing bodies, comprised of airlines and air cargo supply chain stakeholders that provide the regulations for the air transportation of Live Animals, Perishables and Healthcare Products. She is secretary to the IATA Live Animals and Perishables Board and the Time and Temperature Working Group. Mrs. Gruber developed and implemented for the industry three Center of Excellence (CEIV) quality audit programs certifying the handling and transport of pharmaceuticals, live animals and perishable products based on IATA, national and international requirements and standards. Prior to working with IATA Mrs. Gruber worked at the International Road Transport Union (IRU) as head of a division implementing, at the Customs and business level, tools to assist the application of risk management. Mrs. Gruber studied in Geneva at the University and at the Graduate Institute of International Studies (I.U.H.E.I.) and holds a Master of Sciences in International Relations.

Terry Sell has worked in the areas of global distribution, logistics, and regulatory compliance as it applies to Pharmaceutical and Healthcare industry for over 20 years.  Terry has been involved within the industry as well as industry interest groups helping to shape distribution, handling and packaging best practices for the movement of Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and Medical Technology products. Terry currently works for Kuehne + Nagel as the Global Pharma Product Manager within the Air Logistics business field.  He has been with Kuehne + Nagel since June 2010, and was part of the core development team of the award winning KN PharmaChain Product.  It is his responsibility to continue the strategic development of this product moving forward. Prior to Kuehne + Nagel, Terry Sell was employed at Envirotainer, Inc. as well as PriceWaterhouseCoopers.  Terry received his Bachelor of Science in Business from DePaul University in Chicago.

His previous positions include DVP Operational Performances and Product development for International Airport Operations (IAO), VP Operational Performance IAO and COO in Switzerland. Before joining the Emirates Group his aviation career covered various leadership positions across the cargo industry, mainly in the Cargo GSS segment.

In his previous role Samuel worked at Virgin Atlantic Cargo in London where he was involved in various cargo commercial positions. Samuel is also actively involved in various Pharma.Aero initiatives, such as the airport to airport corridor validations and Project Sunrays.

In her current role, Jaisey is responsible for planning, strategy formulation and business development of the airport's air cargo business. Jaisey manages a team to anchor air cargo connectivity, as well as to develop standards and handling capabilities of key cargo verticals including but not restricted to pharmaceuticals, perishables, and e-commerce. In securing Changi's air cargo future, Jaisey is involved in the Changi East Industrial Zone (CEIZ) project and in the shaping and futureproofing of Changi's air cargo hub. Jaisey has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a Master of Science (Supply Chain Management) from National University of Singapore.

Ferry returned to Schiphol in November 2017 after spending almost four years on secondment to Air Cargo Netherlands (ACN) as Director of Special Programmes. Whilst with ACN, he focused on projects to optimise and innovate the supply chain, PPP-balance, and cargo security. At Schiphol, Ferry is responsible for Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas regions. He focuses on the pharmaceuticals arm of the airport’s perishables business. As such, he is one of the founding fathers of the Dutch Covid19 Vaccines Readiness Task Force . Furthermore, Ferry provides a leading role for the Pharma Gateway Amsterdam (PGA) initiative, the group of 21 members that collaborates to uphold and showcase standards of pharma shipping at Schiphol. Ferry manages various cooperation projects focusing on trade lanes, sustainability, and innovation, as well as contributing to long term cargo planning at Schiphol.

Roger Samways is the vice president of Commercial for American Airlines Cargo. In this role, he oversees all cargo sales, revenue management, and customer care and performance. He joined the company in 1998, when he first began working for the airline’s Cargo division. Previously, he held the role of vice president, Cargo Sales where he led the entire sales division, and managing director, Global and Key Accounts – Cargo Sales, where he led the program focusing on Cargo’s largest customers worldwide. Samways brings diverse international experience to Cargo, a department where he has held numerous positions, including regional sales manager – Northern Europe and also had responsibility for American’s interline product and GSA network. A native of the United Kingdom, Samways has a Law Degree from the University of Huddersfield and an MBA from BCUC, both in the UK. He and his family (and small menagerie!) currently reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Trevor Caswell joined the Edmonton International Airport (EIA) in 2017 with the Air Service Business Development Unit. In his role, Trevor is responsible for effectively executing air service development priorities, while cultivating strong relationships with the freight forwarder and business community, airline partners and key stakeholders at the airport. Trevor has held various roles in aviation for over 19 years, including VP of Airport Services, Director and Manager Roles. He has over 12 years’ management experience in domestic and international logistics including air, ocean, rail, and truck freight.  Trevor led Edmonton International Airport (EIA) to be the first IATA CEIV Certified Community Airport in Canada and third in North America. He sits on the Board of Directors for Pharma.Aero as Vice-Chairman, responsible to project development.  Other key business development verticals includes oil and gas sector, industrial products, perishable products, high value added temperature control goods, pharmaceuticals, bio-pharma, cosmetics, nutraceuticals, agricultural food sector, food ingredients and protein development.  Trevor graduated with honours from Georgian College in Aviation Management, & completed his Master’s Degree in Aviation Management (MAvnMgt) Griffith University in Australia.

Prior to joining the company, Strauss held leadership roles in global sales and operations at Air Canada, Hawaiian, Delta and Northwest Airlines. Tim began his career with Emery Worldwide in 1987 (now UPS Supply Chain Logistics) where he held roles of increasing responsibility, starting as a cargo handler and completing his tenure as Vice President of Transportation and Logistics.

Daniel is currently Head of Strategy, Planning & Engineering in SATS Cargo Services. The SATS Group is a major food and airport services company in the region with presence in 10 countries across Asia and the Middle East.  With respect to air cargo, SATS has cargo terminal operations in 13 airports in the region. As Head of Strategy, Planning & Engineering, Daniel is responsible for driving the business strategies, growth and development of new services for SATS’ cargo and logistics businesses. Daniel has over 30 years of experience in the aviation and logistics industries. He spent most of his career in the aerospace industry. He has worked for airlines, aerospace, logistics and ground/cargo handling companies with responsibilities for operations, corporate & strategy development, engineering, partnerships, procurement and supply chain management. His past employers include the Republic of Singapore Air Force, FedEx, Tiger Airways (now Scoot) and SIA Engineering Company. Daniel has previously sat in boards of several private companies operating out of Singapore, Indonesia, Ireland, Taiwan and Singapore.  He was also a member of the MRO Asia-Pacific Advisory Board from 2014-2017. MRO Asia-Pacific is one of Aviation Week’s series of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) focused conferences and exhibitions dedicated to the aviation maintenance industry.

Before joining BOMBELLI, his own family’s business founded in 1889, now specialised in the production of GSE, Cargo Handling Equipment and Cool Chain solutions (Cool Dollies and Storage Racks), Andrea started off by obtaining a BA degree in the UK as well as an MSc degreed at Imperial College London. Subsequently, whilst working in the automotive industry within Fiat Group followed by BMW Group, he was responsible for the development of the brands as well as of the retailer network within the UK market. Currently within BOMBELLI, Andrea is based out of Italy and is currently not only involved in sales, but also in supporting the internal R&D development of their Cool Chain Solutions (Cool Dollies and semi-fixed Cold Storage solutions) by overseeing the important link between customer requirements and design solutions from the engineering team.

After gaining ten years’ experience in Cargo Operations Management, Nicola went on to be Quality and Risk Manager and then Security TAPA Asset Protection Project Manager. Nicola has been the group coordinator for both CEIV Pharma and CEIV Fresh standards for GHAz since IATA first developed and launched the certifications, as well as Pharma & Special Products Development Manager. Nicola is currently leading the Quality Department at SkyCell AG. Additionally, he serves as Secretary General of the Cool Chain Association (CCA) and is a member of IATA TTWG.

Milton De La Paz is Vice President of Airline Relations at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and directs the airport’s primary business goal to grow the core business of domestic and international passenger and cargo airline service. He is also responsible for managing business relationships with all passenger airline and cargo airline partners at DFW. Milton is an accomplished senior commercial executive with more than 25 years of airline experience in the aviation and commercial airlines industry. He is responsible for the execution of DFW Airport’s short- and long-range new air service strategies and for the airport’s strategy to retain and grow existing airline service. He also leads DFW’s air cargo business development strategy including new air cargo route development initiatives, facilities and infrastructure assessment and DFW air cargo community engagement. Before joining DFW in 2013, Milton was the Central USA Regional Manager for QANTAS, and managed global negotiations and strategy for a portfolio of the airline’s largest global customers. His accomplishments with QANTAS included the development of its marine and air/sea program for the cruise and offshore industries. He also maximized the airline’s market position in Latin America through direct involvement in establishing and developing their infrastructure and sales/distribution organization. Milton also designed and implemented the learning and development program for QANTAS’s entire global sales team.   Milton began his aviation career at Aeromexico Airlines in 1983 where he worked to develop brand loyalty through strategic exposure in local promotions, tradeshows and media.

He is the Chairman of the Cool Chain association.

Steven Polmans has spent most of his career in aviation and held management positions, both operational and commercial, in the handling industry. In October 2010, he joined Brussels Airport as Cargo Marketing Manager and on 1 February, 2012, Steven was appointed Head of Cargo and Logistics. He is responsible for developing and implementing the overall cargo strategy of the airport. In 2016, Steven was one of the founders of Air Cargo Belgium and the first chairman of air cargo organisation BRUcargo, grouping all stakeholders involved. In August of the same year, Steven also joined the board of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), and he became Chairman in 2019.

In Lewis’s current role as managing director of the Albion Aviation Group, clients rely on him to deliver bespoke, innovative and cost-effective solutions for their global aircraft charter needs and ACMI requirements. Prior to founding the Albion Aviation Group, Lewis worked for two of the world’s leading aircraft chartering companies with his last position being held as the Sales Director for the Middle East and India, based in Dubai, UAE. In addition, Lewis has held several senior positions in both operational and commercial roles for passenger and cargo airlines. Lewis graduated from the University of Plymouth, UK with a 1st Class BSc Hons Degree, during which time he successfully completed a year’s internship with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Lewis is passionate about all things aviation and was awarded a scholarship from the Air League in the UK, where he learnt to fly solo in a light aircraft.
