LATAM Airlines announces new São Paulo-Mount Pleasant service & increased freight transport

LATAM Airlines Brazil announced today that its new weekly flight to Mount Pleasant Airport (Falkland Islands) from São Paulo – with a monthly stop in Cordoba, Argentina – is now on sale and will operate starting 20 November 2019.

The carrier will fly the route using Boeing 767 aircraft with capacity for more than 190 passengers and will increase the freight transport offer more than seven times. Initially, the company plans to transport perishable products to and from the island.

“With the addition of LATAM’s new Mount Pleasant service, we will double the number of commercial flights to the islands and provide direct access to our São Paulo hub, offering connections with destinations throughout South America, North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. We are proud to be the only airline group to connect the most iconic island destinations in South America with the world,” said Nicolás Salazar, Vice President of Network, LATAM Airlines Group.

By adding this new frequency from its São Paulo/Guarulhos hub, LATAM strengthens its Guarulhos hub, from where serves over 33 destinations throughout South America as well as 14 cities in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. The new flight is scheduled to connect conveniently via São Paulo with flights to/from cities including Miami, London and Madrid.

LATAM Airlines Group serves to more than 140 destinations in 25 countries, providing international connectivity to many of South America’s unique and most remote attractions ranging from Easter Island (Chile) and the Galapagos Islands (Ecuador) in the Pacific to Cartagena (Colombia), Cusco (Peru) and Iguazu Falls on the Argentina-Brazil border.
