Kuehne + Nagel opens first LATAM regional logistics facility in Bogota

Freight forwarding heavyweight Kuehne + Nagel has unveiled its first regional Logistics Control Centre (LCC) for Integrated Logistics in South & Central America in Bogotá, Colombia.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to mark the occasion and the forwarder says the new centre will further “expand its offering of end-to-end solutions from a single source”.

Following the growing demand for integrated logistics and requirements for lean and demand-driven supply chains in South & Central America, the LCC was developed to offer digital supply chain management in a shared environment.

Based on data analytics and continuous improvement methodologies, the LCC will provide Kuehne + Nagel customers tailored solutions with focus on cost efficiency, reduction of supply chain complexity and increase of supply chain performance.

Kuehne + Nagel said it is strategically positioned in Bogotá and supported by dedicated experts, the new LCC is fully connected to the global LCC network in terms of standard processes and leading technology.

Kuehne + Nagel South & Central America president, Ingo Goldhammer said: “This investment represents our commitment to the region and our customers. The LCC will especially benefit multinational corporations with complex international supply chains.

“We are pleased to further enhance our existing partnerships especially with our leading pharma, healthcare and beauty industry customers by an upgraded infrastructure and optimised set-up of services and customer-related teams.”

Global head of integrated logistics, Tobias Jerschke added: “By strengthening our integrated logistics network with the 9th LCC globally, we are able to better leverage our innovative value chain solutions also across our growing customer base in South & Central America.”
