Kansai Airports has said that its KIX Pharma Community achieved IATA’s CEIV Pharma on 10 June – becoming the first airport community in Japan to be awarded the certificate.
Partnering with international cargo handlers at KIX, Kansai Airports established the community in August 2017 with an aim to meet the industry’s international standard for air transportation of pharma products.
The airport said with all the community members being CEIV Parma certified, “more consistent quality throughout the supply chain will be ensured”, thus offering customers “safer and higher-quality pharma cargo service”.
Kansai Airports added it is committed to providing quality handling of pharmaceutical cargo while continually making joint efforts with its partners.
KIX Pharma Community participating companies include CKTS (Kansai Airports Group), JAL Kansai Aircargo System, Hankyu Hanshin Express, Bolloré Logistics Japan, Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation and Yusen Logistics.
