Hong Kong Air Cargo sets up ground transportation and logistics provider

Hong Kong Air Cargo is to spread its wings after announcing it is going to set up a ground transportation & logistics services provider.

Hong Kong Air Cargo Logistics – as it will be known – is a fully-fledged ground transportation provider for the local Hong Kong market working in tandem with the cargo carrier.

The aim of the new provider is to develop Hong Kong into a cargo transportation hub across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao, Greater Bay Area.

Since its establishment in 2017, Hong Kong Air Cargo has expanded its route network to cover six destinations in the region in less than a year.

The carrier currently operates cargo services from Hong Kong to Bangkok, Dhaka, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore and Taipei. Additionally, they are the general sales agent of Hong Kong Airline’s cargo business.

The all-cargo destinations of Hong Kong Airlines include Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Dhaka, Almaty and Istanbul.

Through new cross-border network opportunities brought by the implementation of the ‘Belt and Road Initiative’, ‘Integrated Development in the Greater Bay Area’ and ‘Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’ – Hong Kong Air Cargo is looking to expand its business with the foundation of the air cargo business and aims to service customers in the Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau Gulf regions.

Hong Kong Air Cargo assistant chief executive officer, Zeng Meng said: “We are pleased to announce the commencement of Hong Kong Air Cargo Logistics today. Hong Kong Air Cargo has developed steadily since our establishment last year and we have seen remarkable achievements.

“With the completion of the Hong Kong–Zhuhai-Macao bridge, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan bridge as well as the “Belt and Road” and the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” initiatives introduced by the Chinese Government, moving forward.

“Hong Kong Air Cargo will focus to develop a fully integrated transportation network in the Greater Bay Area including air cargo, ground transportation and warehousing services with an aim to build Hong Kong as the logistics hub.”
