A strike by ground handlers at Frankfurt airport in December led cargo volumes to fall at a rate of 4.5%.
Cargo volumes dropped to 180,186 at the airport, Germany’s largest hub for air freight.
Freight carried at Frankfurt reached 2.2 million tonnes in 2017 and the airport did celebrate a high number of passengers moving through its terminals.
