After ten years Steven Polmans said goodbye to Brucargo at the end of December. Brussels Airport would like to thank him once again for the excellent cooperation and his track record of the past years. Geert Aerts will join the cargo team on 8 March. Together with them, and in close cooperation with the community and Air Cargo Belgium, the ambition and commitment of Brussels Airport to further grow Cargo and Logistics will be continued.
“Cargo is an important cornerstone in the strategy and development of Brussels Airport, and under the leadership of our new Director we will continue work on the redevelopment of Brucargo as a zone, with a focus on specialisation and digitisation. We continue to invest in a strong and dedicated team for our Cargo & Logistics activities to support the entire industry. We look forward to welcoming Geert Aerts to our community in March.”, says Piet Demunter, Chief Business Development Officer at Brussels Airport.
Every year, about 650 000 tonnes of cargo is shipped through Brussels Airport. Brussels Airport is Europe’s preferred airport for the transport of pharmaceuticals and Brucargo plays a crucial role in the current pandemic, as the main pharma hub for the vaccine transport in Europe.
