Gebrüder Weiss was awarded the Gold Export Prize for the category of Transport and Traffic by the Austrian Economic Chambers on June 29.
The company was presented with the award during the Exporters’ Nite held at Vienna’s MuseumsQuartier.
According to the jury, this logistics company managed to successfully expand its international network under particularly difficult circumstances.
“2020 marks our biggest expansion to date,” says Lothar Thoma, Managing Director Air & Sea at Gebrüder Weiss.
“That is why we are particularly honored to receive this award from the WKO.
“Despite the Corona crisis, Gebrüder Weiss still managed to open 24 new locations in 5 different countries and achieved this entirely remotely, without anyone on site to oversee the expansion.
“The locations are now fully integrated, are making a substantial contribution to our network and are starting to form an essential backbone for ensuring the success of our export-oriented customers,”
