Fred Westdijk announced as new CEO of Jan de Rijk Logistics

Jan de Rijk Logistics has appointed Fred Westdijk as the company’s new chief executive officer to replace Sebastiaan Scholte, who left the company on 1 July.

Westdijk (pictured below) is the current director of contract logistics and will start on 1 September. He started his career in 1999 at KLM Cargo and has also worked at Exel Logistics and DHL Supply Chain.

Jan and Jacqueline de Rijk said: “After a careful selection procedure, it turned out that the right candidate for the position of CEO was already working within Jan de Rijk Logistics.

“Fred understands the challenges of international logistics and has the experience and knowledge that is in line with our strategic objectives.”

Westdijk said: “I am honoured that I have the opportunity to lead this wonderful company. Jan de Rijk Logistics has strong assets: motivated loyal people; an experienced management team; a very healthy financial position, a clear vision of the future and the right strategy to achieve it. And all of this is rooted in a strong family business”.

To continue Jan de Rijk’s strategic expansion, Don Brewel has been hired as the new contract logistics director, succeeding Westdijk. He is currently commercial director healthcare at DHL Supply Chain and will start on 1 November.
