Finnair has reported that cargo tonnage increased year-on-year (YOY) by 24.5 per cent to 11,633 tonnes in February mostly driven by the strong positive market development in Japan and Western Europe.
The Helsinki-based carrier has started strongly this year and in the first two months of 2019 tonnage is up YOY by 26 per cent to 23,618 tonnes.
Revenue scheduled cargo tonne kilometres increased by 26.2 per cent to 73.8 million in February and by 26 per cent to 149.8 million in the first two months of the year.
Available scheduled cargo tonne kilometres increased by 16.2 per cent YOY to 125.2 million in February, and by 15.7 per cent YOY to 261.6 million in the first two months of the year.
The cargo load factor was up 4.5 percentage points in February to 58.9 per cent and in the first two months of 2019 was up 4.5 percentage points to 57.3 per cent.
