Etihad Cargo makes new Emirati leadership appointments

Etihad Cargo has made several Emirati national appointments within its commercial division, in a further step towards enhancing both its global customer program as well as its UAE home market.

With a renewed focus and mandate, the UAE commercial function will be headed by Bader Ahmed Al Ali.

Bader joined Etihad Cargo in 2010 having previously spent several years in the financial services sector in Abu Dhabi. He held several posts within Etihad Cargo, most recently as manager government key accounts and charters.

In his new role as senior manager commercial for the UAE home market, Bader will look after UAE key customer accounts, UAE Government key accounts, Dubai and Northern Emirates sales, Abu Dhabi sales, imports and Etihad Cargo counter sales at the Abu Dhabi Cargo Terminal, as well as specialised product sales in the UAE including perishables, live animals and luxury vehicles.

He will oversee a group of Emiratis also taking up new roles within the UAE commercial team, with Raya Mohamed Ibrahim (UAE key accounts), Hessa Al Shehhi (government key accounts) and Aref Al Mulla (Dubai & Northern Emirates sales) appointed to lead these key areas to help Etihad Cargo better serve its home market.

Etihad Cargo is also revamping its global customer program and cargo loyalty scheme, with Haleema Al Hosani appointed as senior manager to lead these two key commercial programs.

Abdulla Mohamed Shadid, managing director cargo and logistics services at Etihad Aviation Group, said: “Today Etihad is proud to see these talented Emirati individuals take up leadership positions within Etihad Cargo. Since our inception 15 years ago, Etihad Cargo has grown rapidly to cement its place as a top 20 global air cargo carrier.

“Our Global Customer program, our loyalty scheme and our UAE home market have all been key catalysts for this growth, and today’s key Emirati appointments are a further signal of our commitment to better serve these segments, while developing our top Emirati talents into key leadership positions”.

The renewed UAE commercial organization will play a key role in fostering closer working relationships with the local forwarder community as well as the key global forwarders with a UAE presence, and providing a seamless and more efficient commercial approach for the local perishables traders such as flowers and meat importers, as well as key Government-affiliated industrial and services institutions.

In the coming weeks, Etihad Cargo will also be announcing further enhancements and updates to its global customer and loyalty programs led by Haleema.

“I would like to wish the team the best of luck in their new responsibilities”, added Shadid. “With the full backing and support of the senior leadership at the Etihad Aviation Group, we are confident that they will fulfill our ambition to better serve our local and global cargo customers, and further demonstrate that the Air Cargo industry is an ideal platform for nurturing Emirati talent.”
