Ethiopian and Liege celebrate 10 years and look to future growth

Ethiopian Airlines Cargo and Logistics and Liege Airport have celebrated 10 years of business and are preparing for future growth.

They marked the anniversary at the 2nd Africa Air Cargo Summit which took place 22-23 November in Nairobi, Kenya and cut a cake to celebrate the occasion.

Ethiopian Airlines Cargo and Logistics general manager, Fitsum Abady said the choice to set-up in Liege in 2008 proved to be the “best choice for everyone”.

The carrier has grown fast and started with two leased MD11s and now has a fleet of eight Boeing 777 Freighters with more to come, while Liege Airport has continued to grow tonnage and its service offerings.

In Nairobi, Astral Aviation chief executive officer, Sanjeev Gadhia also thanked the organisers, sponsors and all delegates for two days of “interesting” discussions, presentations and networking in Nairobi.

The 3rd Africa Air Cargo Summit will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 2020.
