Ukraine International chooses ECS as its GSSA in India

ECS Globe Air Cargo India has been chosen by Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) to be the carrier’s general services and sales agent (GSSA) in India.

As of 1 May 2018, ECS Globe Air Cargo India starting supporting UIA througout the Indian subcontinent. UIA commenced services from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport the same day.

Currently, UIA operates three weekly flights between Delhi and Kiev-Boryspil, Ukraine with a fourth frequency to be added on 7 June this year.

The UIA flights are operated on Boeing 767-300ER with available cargo capacity up to eight to 10 tonnes. ECS Globe Air Cargo India expects to generate a cargo volume of about 2,000 tonnes per annum with pharmaceuticals, leather goods, chemicals, machinery, textile being among the most important commodities.

UIA provides connections to 38 countries in Europe, Asia, America, Africa, and the Middle East. The ECS Group represents UIA at major destinations all over the world.

UIA director of cargo and mail, Peter Kukharchuk said: “The flights from Delhi are scheduled so as to provide non-stop service and convenient connections with the UIA flights to the cities of Ukraine and Europe at Kiev Boryspil International Airport. UIA keeps developing business model of a network carrier and improve on Ukraine’s image as a transit country.”

ECS Globe Air Cargo India country manager, Girish Kunder said UIA Is is a “prestigious account for us”, as it has been handling the carrier’s activities offline since the inception of Globe Air Cargo in India.

He added: “Now, we are happy to serve them online as well. Our team is highly motivated to lay the ground for UIA’s longterm business success in India.”
