Daniel Pohl started his new role as managing director (MD) of Dachser Malaysia on 1 January 1, 2019 bringing 17 years of logistics experience with him as he aims to drive growth in the emerging Malaysia market.
He comes from a German-Indonesian family and lived in China for 23 years, brings a wealth of international expertise to the aspiring Dachser country organization. Pohl is reporting to Christophe Vincent, MD Air & Sea Logistics Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and Malaysia at Dachser.
After having held different positions at global logistics companies, Pohl joined Dachser in 2010. Most recently, he proved his leadership capabilities by successfully heading sales in the company’s North China business area.
“My team and I will strongly focus on increasing business activities and Dachser’s footprint in the Malaysian market,” Pohl said. “Regions like Penang and Johor Baru offer huge potential for logistics,” he added.
Dachser generated revenue of €6.12 billion in 2017. That same year, the logistics provider handled a total of 81.7 million shipments weighing 39.8 million metric tons. Dachser is currently represented in 44 countries.
