Cargolux recognized “Best Developing Freighter Operator 2019”

Cargolux is honoured to have received the “Best Developing Freighter Operator 2019” at the annual Budapest airport award ceremony. After 18 years of fruitful cooperation between BUD airport and Europe’s leading all-cargo carrier, 2019 cemented the two entities’ long-standing collaboration. Indeed, Cargolux doubled its weekly frequencies from three to six scheduled services and introduced a new direct route from Zhengzhou Airport, the carrier’s second hub in China.

2019 was a significant year for us in terms of cargo operations and the opening of BUD Cargo City in November was a real milestone. As the first cargo carrier to offer flights into Budapest airport in 2002, Cargolux is the benchmark for other players in the industry. Over the years, a solid and trustworthy relationship formed between the airport and the operator which is now the largest freight airline to service the destination. BUD celebrated a year of large-scale developments in 2019 in all important business segments, passengers, aircraft maintenance, and cargo. The award ceremony was the opportunity to a celebrate a successful year at Budapest Airport.
