Cargo faces Covid-19 boost

Cargo operations are likely to be subject to renewed interest from both airlines and new entrants to the market thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking on the release of ING’s transport and logistics sector outlook report, ING senior economist (transport, logistics and automotive) Rico Luman said airline passenger numbers fell by as much as 66 per cent in 2020 compared to 2019 as airlines were largely banned by international travel restrictions.
