Budapest Airport appoints Rolf Schnitzler as new CEO

Budapest Airport has wasted no time in appointing a new CEO after the departure of Joost Lammers was announced last week as it has announced that Rolf Schnitzler will take the helm with immediate effect.

Schnitzler has more than 14 years of experience in corporate management at AviAlliance, a leading private industrial airport investors and managers.

He has also been a member and chairman of the Supervisory Board of Budapest Airport since 2011, and has become intensively acquainted with the airport through the provision of support and legal advice on numerous important projects.

Budapest Airport chairman of the board of directors, Gerhard Schroeder said: “I am confident that under Rolf Schnitzler’s leadership Budapest Airport will continue its development as one of the most dynamic airports in the region.

“We have a clear vision for the future of Budapest Airport and I believe Rolf Schnitzler is ideally qualified to help us realize that vision over the coming years. He will take over from the acting CEO, Jost Lammers, and I would like to express my thanks to Jost Lammers for his important contribution to Budapest Airport since 2007.”

Lammers will take over from the retiring Michael Kerkloh as president and CEO of Munich Airport on a five-year term effective as of 1 January, 2020.
