Blue Dart launches new facility at Mumbai International Airport

Indian express cargo operator Blue Dart has launched a new state-of-the-art facility at Mumbai International Airport, according to reports.

IIFL reports the new facility features dedicated ground handling with top of the range equipment, automation, state-of-the-art infrastructure and advanced technologies to support the handling of express shipments.

The new state-of-the-art aviation facility is strategically located near Terminal 1 (Domestic) at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (MIAL).

The facility measures 4,300 square metres and is equipped with both air and city side access, enabling fast and efficient transfer of shipments, improving transit times and further strengthening Blue Dart’s service levels.

Blue Dart Aviation is India’s first and only domestic freighter carrier and has been operating  for 23 years. It operates a fleet of six Boeing 757-200 Freighters with a total capacity of 500 tonnes.

Mumbai is one of Blue Dart’s major hubs with four flight departures connecting eight sectors on its network.

Blue Dart Aviation’s MIAL hub provides long-term, dedicated infrastructure for accelerating process and throughput of large volumes of express shipments from its fleet of aircraft, with enhanced city side access, to expedite vehicle movement and shipment deliveries.
