Amazon Prime Air has almost doubled the number of staff in its Cambridge-based Prime Air team, bringing them close to 60 staff working on making Amazon drone deliveries a reality.
last year Amazon announced that they were committed to hiring more than 2,000 people across the UK which includes over 170 roles at its tech hubs in Cambridge, London and Edinburgh.
The tech giant significantly out-performed expectations in its second quarter, jumping past profit estimates despite the ongoing Covid pandemic.
“This was another highly unusual quarter, and I couldn’t be more proud of and grateful to our employees around the globe,” said Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and CEO.
