Amazon distribution center fire treated as ‘suspicious’

A fire at an Amazon distribution centre in Rugeley, Staffordshire has been called ‘suspicious’ by local police as the department suggests arson was likely the cause.

The warehouse in South of England is one of Amazon’s flagship centres for its UK operations.

A large portion of the warehouse, which houses millions of Amazon’s products, was seriously damaged when the fire broke out on November 4. Nobody was injured in the fire.

Local police are now treating the fire as suspicious after an investigation found evidence of the fire being started deliberately.

There is a worry that the fire will now affect those who had ordered early Christmas presents.
