Cargo Handling

AISATS BLR becomes 1st air cargo terminal in India to receive new TAPA certification

AISATS BLR has received Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) facility security requirements (FSR) for cargo operations at its air freight terminal and AISATS COOLPORT at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru.

The Indian operator said that FSR 2017 Class A certification for warehouse security has “more stringent” security parameters compared to TAPA FSR 2014.

AISATS BLR said: “TAPA is known for its strict evaluation criteria for certifying a cargo facility to FSR Class A standards. This highest accreditation is accorded to a warehouse for its security after carrying out thorough audits/inspections of the warehouse operations.

“The security processes followed at AISATS’ warehouse such as stringent access controls, secure handling of high-value products, high-tech equipment for cargo handling, installation of vital surveillance and alarm systems are in line with the set standards of the auditing body.

“Security requirements for TAPA FSR 2017 Class A Certification are also in conformance and compliance to the Safety Management System of AISATS. This certification assures highest level of security of cargo during its warehousing and respective handling at AISATS BLR facilities.”
