Air Canada Cargo switches cargo handling partner in Chile

Air Canada Cargo has switched its cargo handling partner in Chile at Santiago International Airport to Ultramar Cargo.

The new handling contract came into effect on 16 July. The carrier made the announcement on its website.

The move was reportedly made due to the carrier’s changing needs of Air Canada Cargo which operates a Boeing 787-9 belly route into Santiago four times a week, upping the frequency in the winter season.

Much of the cargo set to be handled is set to be perishables including fresh produce and seafood such as salmon. Much of this then gets shipped onto the carrier’s vast network to Asia and Europe.
