American to move into new facility at Milan Malpensa in August

American Airlines Cargo will move into a new expanded 5,000 square metre cargo facility at Milan Malpensa Airport in August.

The US belly carrier will be the launch customer for the new Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) cargo facility at Malpensa and will move all its on airport operations there by 1 August 2018.

Meanwhile, the airline’s cargo and passenger teams in Milan have also won the company’s Customer Cup for the first quarter of 2018. Earlier this month American celebrated a decade of connecting New York and Milan.

In a ceremony at the airport (pictured above), teams from both sides of the airline’s business were rewarded for meeting and exceeding targets set.

On the cargo side of the business on-board, hand posting and specialist product performance helped to deliver the victory.

Regional sales manager for South Asia, Middle East, Africa and Southern Europe for cargo, Richard Hartmann said: “The fact that both our cargo and passenger teams have won these awards at the same time is a tremendous showcase for how the two sides of our business can work hand in hand and come out on top while delivering great service to all our customers.”
